Round Radar is a golf app made by Lone Badger Tech, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Round Radar apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android and this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

The short version: we use your location to show yardages and find courses, store your rounds and scores, and pass drink orders to the course's cart staff. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. You can delete your account and data at any time.

What we collect

Account information

Your name and email address, and an identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google if you use them. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email; we then receive a relay address. Optional profile details you add, such as a home course or handicap estimate preferences.

Location

We use your device's precise location:

  • To find courses near you, only while you use that feature.
  • During a round you start, to show yardages, place your group on the course, estimate when the drink cart will reach you, and send "the cart is close" alerts if you turn them on. This can continue in the background until you finish or leave the round.
  • For drink cart staff while on shift, to route orders to the right cart and to support the staff safety (SOS) feature.

Players see drink cart positions only at roughly hole-level precision. We keep location history for rounds and shifts for up to 90 days to improve routing, then delete or anonymize it. You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time; scoring still works without it.

Rounds, scores and games

Courses played, tees, scores and optional stats (fairways, greens, putts, chips, bunker shots, penalties), the players in your group, and side games tracked in points. Players you add as guests are stored by the name you enter and, if you choose to invite them, an email address or phone number.

Social features

Friends you add, and comments and likes on rounds. Reports you file about other users, and blocks.

Drink cart orders

What you order, who it's for in your group, notes you add, order status, how it was paid (cash, card at the cart, or tab), and your confirmation that you're 21 or older when ordering alcohol. In this version we don't process card payments in the app and never see your card number.

Device and usage information

Device model, operating system and app version, an identifier for this install of the app (used to settle score edits made at the same moment on two phones), push notification tokens, and server logs needed to run the service and fix problems. The app has no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.

Staff safety incidents

When a drink cart operator presses SOS, we record the time, the operator's location during the incident, who was alerted and who responded. Incident records are kept for course safety and legal purposes.

How we use it

  • Provide the app: yardages, scoring, sync between your group's phones, games, leaderboards and drink cart ordering.
  • Send notifications you've allowed, such as cart alerts, order updates, friend activity and event invites.
  • Keep people safe, including staff SOS alerts, and enforce our Terms (for example, acting on reports of harassment).
  • Fix bugs, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve features.
  • Meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

WhoWhat and why
Players in your round or eventYour name, scores and game results, so everyone sees the same card and leaderboard.
Your friendsFinished rounds and posts, based on your privacy settings.
The golf courseYour drink orders, your name and your group's approximate position, so staff can prepare and deliver. Courses also see order history and incident records for their property.
Service providersHosting and database (Microsoft Azure), push notification delivery (Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging) and email delivery. They process data only on our instructions.
Legal and safetyWhen required by law, or to protect someone's safety (for example, sharing an SOS incident with emergency services).

We don't sell personal information and don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Map data

Course maps include data from OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Map data contains no information about you.

How long we keep it

We keep account, round and social data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer by law or for safety records (such as SOS incidents). Scores that are part of other players' rounds remain on their cards with your name replaced by "Former player".

Your choices and rights

  • Location and notifications: change them any time in your device settings.
  • Access, correction and export: edit your profile in the app, or ask us for a copy of your data.
  • Deletion: delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page.
  • Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to use them; we won't discriminate against you for doing so.

Children

Round Radar isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. Ordering alcohol requires being 21 or older, and course staff check ID at handoff. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting provider, and access is limited to people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password if you sign in with email.

Changes

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date and tell you in the app before they apply.
